Reliquaries

What’s a reliquary?

In the middle ages a reliquary was a container in which the relics of saints were kept. Relics could be objects associated with a holy person such as items of dress or body parts. Nowadays we don’t keep old bones in a casket on the mantelpiece but we might want a nice box to keep our best dram in. So a decorated box for holding liquor — something that you might refill— is my new definition of a re-liquary!
